Forestry Tasmania is merely trying to detract from the real issue that World Heritage Value forests are going to be logged, despite a recommendation by the United Nations that these forests have an immediate moratorium placed on them, to ensure their protection from logging", Huon Valley Environment Centre's Jenny Weber said.</span><br><span></span><br><span>"The highly visible ropes that were placed in the tall trees of the threatened South Weld World Heritage Value forest are designed to protect treesitters not harm anyone. These structures have been clearly described to Forestry Tasmania employees", Jenny Weber said.</span><br><span></span><br><span>"These rope structures provide a web of protection around the person in the tree platform. In the past, treesitters have been threatened by logging that has occurred close to the tree. Forestry industry employees have a long history of threatening and harming peaceful conservationists", Jenny Weber said.</span><br><span></span><br><span>"Non violent practice is a core value of the Huon Valley Environment Centre in our ongoing campaign to call for the protection of ancient high conservation value forests that are carbon rich.
