first day of trial are just a few of the activities planned.
“The Gunns20 case now is all about the small community of Lucaston versus a
billion dollar logging company. We will be using the latest web innovations
and social media sites to spread the word about this case and its threat to
free speech.
With our public campaign we aim to put Gunns Ltd and its logging activities
under the spotlight,” said defendant Adam Burling
“For more than 5 years I have been put through hell with the case, I am now
ready to clear my name in court and I know that there is huge public support
behind me,” said defendant Lou Geraghty.
“Having Senator Bob Brown, Richard Flanagan, Pete Hay and Fiona Newson all
support us at Friday’s event at the Lea is a great source of inspirartion.
We are asking for the public to show their support for the remainig
defendants who have stood up for Tasmania’s forests and free speech,” said
defendant representative Jenny Weber, Huon Valley Environment Centre.
