The Tasmanian state election is due to happen on the 20th March 2010. The
fate of the forests will be a key issue in the election. The Tasmanian
Greens will potentially play a pivotal role in who will form government.

Perspectives, sharing skills and information, plus filming and editing tips,
with long term campaigners from the Huon Valley Environment Centre and Still

led by Nicole Pietsch – Campaigner, Huon Valley Environment Centre
An interactive workshop exploring the NVDA concept, how to manage conflict
and create safe space at actions, and how NVDA relates to the Southern
Forest Campaign.

campaigns by local groups to undertake a climate change perspective in the
efforts to protect Tasmania’s wilderness Forests

A camera setting and spotlighting session will be held at dusk, participants
can get hands on experience and come back the following day, view results
and learn more about technical aspects of remote camera use.

Rena Gaborov and Joe Henderson will present a workshop on passive fauna
survey techniques focusing on remote camera use. Joe and Rena live and work
in far East Gippsland and have been instrumental in the campaign to protect
the regions old growth forests. They have found several threatened species
in scheduled logging coupes that have forced the Victorian Government to
protect additional areas of forest. **

facilitated by Nicole Pietsch – Huon Valley Environment Centre
Reflect on previous years in the forest campaign, and then project into the
future – visioning the sustainable world we are to strive for, and
brainstorm ideas on how to get there.**
