Community Forum on Wood Fired Power
This Sunday in Judbury
The Huon Valley Environment Centre is hosting a community forum on
Wood Fired Power Stations at Judbury this Sunday.
The forum offers an opportunity for local communities and interested
residents to hear recent information about plans for a proposed wood
fired power station at Southwood, west of Judbury. Speakers will cover
the social and environmental issues surrounding the current Southwood
proposal, as well as the broader international climate change issues
surrounding wood fired power stations.
The forum will be followed by a screening of Wasting the Woods, an
informative film about native forest forest furnaces.
This forum is an opportunity to hear the other side of the story about
wood fired power and to tell our politicians that Tasmanian
communities can generate a clean, green future without burning our
native forests.
