'Weld Echo 2010' will be an exhibition that features both emerging and 
well established artists, and follows on from the highly successful Weld 
Echo Exhibitions of the past two years, which has seen hundreds of 
artists collaborate for the exhibition and thousands of people visit.

Weld Echo is coordinated by the Black Sassy Collective, the artistic arm 
of the Huon Valley Environment Centre (HVEC). The collective is a 
volunteer, not-for-profit, community based organisation and focuses on 
producing art exhibitions that provide local and grassroots artists with 
the opportunity to gain exposure.

The Weld Echo exhibition aims to create greater awareness of the 
destruction of the amazing southern forest of the Weld Valley, which is 
located 50 kilometres south west of Hobart.

We are looking for artists of all mediums to contribute to the Weld Echo 
exhibition; painters, photographs, sculptors, woodworkers, textile 
artists, film makers, etc.. with the artwork to be themed around the 
Weld Valley and/or the campaign to protect it.

l All artworks are to be inspired by the Weld Valley
2 Each artist may submit no more than three (3) pieces
3.Endeavour to use the Long Gallery space in whatever creative way you 
like, though please confirm with Black Sassy Collective any ideas about 
large items, large display area needed or any other out of the ordinary 
requirements.
4. No wet pieces will be accepted.
5. Some display boxes and pedestals will be available, but you are 
encouraged to supply your own.
6. While all care will be taken no responsibility will be assumed for 
damage
or loss to artworks. Black Sassy Collective will take all due care with 
the artwork.
7.Final decisions on the work to be displayed in Weld Echo 2010 lies 
with Black Sassy Collective, and we reserve the right to refuse pieces 
on the basis of inappropriate content.
